Xbox has once again had to state on a Sunday to quell another rumor, this time about Walmart, Target, and other retailers potentially removing Xbox Hardware and games from their stores.

You may have seen multiple rumor posts on both legit and content mill websites about Xbox hardware and games being outright removed at Target, Best Buy, and Walmart stores on social media. Xbox has today released a response to Michael Hoglund and Jez Corden, as reported by Windows Central.

“Target and Walmart, among other retailers, remain committed partners for Xbox consoles, accessories, and games.”

Cade Onder on Twitter has gotten a statement directly from Target:

We continue to sell Xbox consoles, games and accessories, both in-stores and on Target.com. Select items are currently not showing up on Target.com because they are sold out, but once available again, consumers will see them again on Target.com

After last weekend’s “Xbox is leaving hardware” kerfuffle, Microsoft PR was forced to respond to social media and forum posts. Here we are seven days later and back at it with the latest ‘controversy’ around the brand.

It’s the latest in a long line of negative news cycles for the brand, both real and imagined. Costco has moved to stop stocking Xbox hardware, though that brand is focused on thin margins. With all of the recent ‘macroeconomic conditions’, prices continue to rise.

Another story claimed that Xbox’s rumored handheld was canceled because AMD required 10 million units to be ordered at a minimum. Who knows what next week will bring in this never-ending saga of bad news and people looking to get engagement.
