Xbox executive Dustin Blackwell has doubled down on the claim of 75+ Day One titles hitting Xbox Game Pass in 2025 in an interview with Tom Warren of The Verge.

In said interview, Dustin Blackwell, director of gaming and platform communications at Microsoft, attempted to defend the service’s price increase:
“What’s new for everyone across all three Xbox Game Pass plans is bigger game libraries, including PC games across each of the plans,” explains Dustin Blackwell, director of gaming and platform communications at Microsoft, in a briefing with The Verge. “There is also unlimited cloud gaming, which is new to Essential and Premium subscribers.”
He went on to double down on the claim that 75+ Day One launches would hit the service in 2026. In comparison, our community member baiisun gave the following figured on Day One titles in Game Pass over the years:
- 2018 – 9

- 2020 – 32
- 2021 – 52
- 2022 – 65
- 2023 – 44
- 2024 – 39
- 2025 – 51
Mr Blackwell goes on to say:
“We’re also now giving access to more than 75 day one releases each year,” Blackwell says. “That’s a 50 percent increase over the day one titles we provided last year.”
