Like many Halo fans, I am rather impatient to find out what’s next for one of my favourite gaming franchises. Thankfully, I don’t have to wait for very long as Halo Studios plans a ‘deep dive’ on their latest project and have shared a little more detail on just when we’ll know more.
Back in June, Halo Studios did tease a follow up to their previous reveal, ‘A New Dawn‘ which shared details on the rebranding of the studio away from 343 and ‘Project Foundry’ – where Halo‘s development has been fully transitioned over to Unreal Engine 5.
In a new blog post discussing the latest (and final) Halo World Championship Series event for Halo Infinite, Tashi, Halo Studios Esports lead shared a little more detail on what eager Halo fans can expect.
“Back in June we let the community know that we’d be continuing the conversation from last year’s HaloWC and the “A New Dawn” video and sharing more about what we’ve been working on. Like last year we’ll be on the Main Stage to talk about it but this year we’ve also got a “deep dive” panel planned for the Community Stage that you won’t want to miss. Both the segment on the Main Stage and the panel on the Community Stage will be going down early Friday afternoon on October 24 at HaloWC. Make sure you’re there early so you don’t miss a second!“
In terms of exact timing for when you can tune in via Twitch/YouTube, fret not – Halo Studios will be sharing the full schedule for the event after the currently planned Charlotte major in a couple of weeks.

Is it going to be a Halo CE Remake?
Since the studio rebrand, there’s been plenty of discussion and theorising on just what Halo Studios are working on. Is it a remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved in Unreal Engine 5, or a full top-to-bottom remake? Will it be single player only or a full fledged multiplayer and campaign focused extravaganza?
Halo Studios Lead Pierre Hintze did tease last year, saying “It’s fair to say that our intent is that the majority of what we showcased in [Project] Foundry is expected to be in projects which we are building, or future projects.”

Tom Warren, Senior Editor over at the Verge had reported on the existence of a Halo CE Remake last year, saying “One game that is being considered for release on PS5 is Halo, though. Sources tell me Microsoft is working on some form of a Halo: Combat Evolved remaster that is also being considered for rival consoles. I don’t expect Microsoft to announce this during the showcase, as it’s early days for this remaster.“ Phil Spencer adding fuel to the fire during the Xbox Showcase this year certainly helped.
Either way, 2026 sounds like a pretty big year for Xbox, with a return to some classic franchises as it celebrates 25 years of the platform. We’ve got a new Forza Horizon set in Japan, a new Gears of War and per Phil Spencer, the “return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning.”
