Out of nowhere, Hogwarts Legacy is now an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and is available on Xbox, Xbox on PC, and in Xbox Cloud Gaming. This tends to happen with WBIE titles before they join Xbox Game Pass, so perhaps it’s a sign of things to come?

Hogwarts Legacy, one of 2023’s best-selling titles globally, is now available as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. The game is playable on Xbox Series X|S consoles, Xbox on PC via the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. As the game was just added, if you own the title on Xbox and want to play it on PC you’ll need to do the following:
- Search Hogwarts Legacy on the Microsoft Store
- Choose the Hogwarts Legacy and Quidditch game bundle
- Choose Hogwarts Legacy from the ‘included in’ section
- ???
- Profit!

In the past, with Warner Bros titles, they have only joined Xbox Play Anywhere as part of a Game Pass deal. The next Game Pass drop will be the first Tuesday of October, which isn’t until October 7th, 2025. The title weighs in at a hefty 98 GB on PC. Our own Gyozo ‘FairyEmpire’ Baki reviewed it back at launch, stating:
Hogwarts Legacy borrows a lot of design choices and ideas from other open-world titles, and yet, it creates a truly unique product, unlike any title in the genre, with a true focus on world-building rather than non-stop combat encounters. It’s a game that should be experienced, even by those who aren’t Potter fans at all.
Are you interested in the game, do you perhaps already own it on Xbox? Are you avoiding it entirely because you refuse to give J.K. Rowling money? Let us know in the comments section below, and keep an eye on XboxEra to see if this one ends up joining Game Pass or not.
