A release date trailer was shown today for the super cute and cosy looking survival game Winter Burrow during the Xbox Showcase at the Tokyo Games Show. Developed by Danish Team Pine Creek Games, the Winter Burrow release date has been revealed as the 12th November 2025, and it’s landing straight into Xbox Game Pass.
The development team at Pine Creek Games have shared more information about their debut title, saying “Winter Burrow is a cozy woodland survival game. Explore, gather resources, craft tools, knit warm sweaters, bake pies and meet the locals!
Home Sweet Home
In Winter Burrow, you play a mouse who returns from the big city to find their childhood home in ruins. To make matters worse, your Aunt (who was supposed to be looking after it) has gone missing. Restore your broken-down childhood burrow to its former glory so you can relax in front of the fireplace.
A Cozy Approach to Survival
Winter Burrow is a survival game you play at your own pace. Customize your character, decorate your burrow and choose a path that fits your play style. This story is yours to tell.
Explore a Frozen Wilderness
Brave the elements and journey out into the frozen wilderness to collect vital resources for both yourself and your new home. Beware of the insect wildlife and remember that nobody survives on their own; find new friends, expand your survival knowledge, and solve the mystery of what happened to your Aunt.”
Fans looking forward to the game can also take part in a demo as part of Steam Next Fest which begins on October 13th. Players of the demo can expect a couple of hours of gameplay, loads of new resources and things to craft, a completely new UI and even apparently MUSHROOM GARDENING!
There seems to be a lot to be excited about here, and I for one am looking forward to snuggling down and spending some time chilling in the woods with the cute little critters.
Winter Burrow is releasing on Xbox Series X|S (Game Pass), Steam and Nintendo Switch on November 12th.
