At today’s PlayStation Direct, Xbox Game Studios has announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is its latest title heading to the PS5.

After Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 5, Flight Simulator 2024 is the latest Xbox game to come to PlayStation. Flight Simulator 24 was released to mostly negative reviews last year, as the switch from massive local downloads to a cloud-based solution did not go well at launch.
The last time I loaded up the game, I still had issues with textures loading in despite my gigabit download. Xbox has become one of PlayStation 5’s biggest publishers. They have a variety of games hitting the platform, starting with the “just 4 experiment” back in 2024. Microsoft Flight Simulator makes sense as it is a live service title with a large marketplace to sell microtransactions.
With the game coming to another platform, here is hoping that it runs better than it has on PC and Xbox so far. Performance was so poor, including not working with my Turtle Beach flight deck. Instead, I’ve only recommended ‘wait for them to fix it up’, an ongoing wait. Flight Simulator 2024 will be out on December 8th, 2025
