Call of Duty Black Ops 7 devs have confirmed in an interview with Charlie Intel that they canceled some ‘big brand’ collaborations after the fallout over their toon skins in Black Ops 6.

In an interview with Twitter account Charlie Intel, which has been hosted on Dexerto, Treyarch’s Senior Director of Production, Yale Miller, had the following quotes about Black Ops 7’s skin situation:
“There are opportunities that we have had lined up that, after some of our conversations, we straight up turned down. Big, big brands, big things, and we’re like, ‘No, we’re not gonna do that because it just doesn’t fit,’” said Miller.
He used the Nuketown Block Party event’s mannequin skins as an example of something that’s not grounded, but “feels right for the game.”
“All intentions [are] to stick to stuff that we can hand on our heart, say, ‘Yeah, that feels Black Ops,’” Miller continued. “That’s really our goal. And I think that’s a good clarification versus grounded.”
They didn’t rule out collaborations entirely, but it seems they’re aiming only to include those that make sense for Black Ops 7.

I can already hear the keyboards clicking, both from those upset and the fewer that are happy. It feels like, at least to me, that no matter what Treyarch does in this situation, they will lose. The majority of those complaining want all “not grounded” skins out, ignoring the reality of the COD player base that purchases these skins in droves.
How do you feel about this entire situation? Will you still be checking out Call of Duty: Black Ops 7? If so, where and how? Let us know in the comments section below.
