It’s football/soccer season, and the UEFA Champions League is underway, with already a handful of bombastic results to boot. The itch to play the brand new FIFA, which is actually called FC nowadays, is rising. But can you play EA SPORTS FC 26 on EA Play? And what does this mean for Game Pass subscribers? Let’s crack this open, because it’s not as simple as it may seem.
If you wanna trust my review, and why wouldn’t you, turns out this year’s title by EA Sports is an absolute banger! It’s carried by stellar production values, various smart changes to the gameplay and the fantastic new Authentic Mode. It’s the most fun I’ve had with the franchise in years, and I’m already knee-deep in my career mode, as the gameplay feels better than ever this time.
Electronic Arts’ game subscription service, EA Play, has been a godsend for many players for a long time now. Featuring virtually any game the publisher releases, it’s a cheap way to access such a vast library. Indeed, you don’t even have to shell out big cash for each title. In fact, you can play the full versions of various recent games like Dragon Age: Veilguard, or last year’s FC 25 on it, today.
Now comes the tricky part, because if you look at your standard EA Play subscription, you may notice that you can already play EA SPORTS FC 26. This, however, may only be a 10-hour trial. That is what Electronic Arts normally do – their new games receive a limited time access to the game only, at first.
Later down the line, usually after 6 to 10 months, the unrestricted full version of the game joins the so-called Vault. EA Play‘s Vault is where the long back catalog of titles are added. Indeed, the full version last year’s FC 25 joined EA Play in June 2025, about 9 months after its initial release.
To get full, unlimited access to day one games by Electronic Arts, you need to subscribe to EA Play Pro. This, however, is only available on PC at this time. On Xbox and PlayStation, only the standard EA Play subscription is available, of which we already talked above.
You may also correctly recall that EA Play is included in certain Game Pass subscriptions. This would inevitably lead to EA SPORTS FC 26 being playable on Game Pass, as well!
