Splinter Cell: Deathwatch comes to Netflix in October

Fans of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch have been waiting since 2013 for the return of Sam Fisher. A new game might not be on the cards from publishers Ubisoft, but all is not lost as Netflix have announced a new animated show, complete with launch trailer – coming to the platform on October 14th.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch comes to Netflix in October

Developed by the creator of John Wick Derek Kolstad, the show promises to be as action-packed as the game franchise – this time with the main protagonist Sam teaming up with a new operative who seeks out his help when wounded. Sam Fisher will be voiced by Liev Schreiber of Ray Donovan fame and his companion Zinnia McKenna by Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Killing Eve and The Sandman). Created in a new animation style that blends both 2D and 3D styles promising a more naturalistic fighting style, fans of the franchise who have been waiting for years for a remake of the game have now been thrown their first bone in 12 years.

There are hardly any details leaked yet on the storyline, and the question most die hard fans will be asking is will the show follow the beloved game storyline faithfully, or have the team taken a more creative approach that may or may not be well received.

First announced in July 2020, the show has taken five years before being ready to launch, but there is not too much longer to wait as the show releases on Netflix on October 14th.
