New Halo Infinite Update brings back fan-favourite mode from Halo: Reach

Remember Reach?

To all the valiant Spartans and UNSC cadets who have been waiting for some more action – fear not! Your time has come, as the new Halo Infinite update brings back a fan-favourite mode from Halo: Reach.

Halo Infinite – Invasion returns! New Halo Infinite Update brings back fan-favourite mode from Halo: Reach

Celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of Halo: Reach, and running from now until October 7th, Operation: Warpath offers up a new mode, Invasion. First rolled out in the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, Invasion is a classic 8v8 battle with three phases, with unique objectives and goals. As you progress through the rounds, attackers gain points and advance through, gaining weapons and spawn points. If defeated however, the roles are reversed, and you become part of the defence team. A unique feature of Invasion maps is ‘buddy spawning’, where instead of respawning at the default location, you can respawn directly on your buddy (as long as he’s still alive). After October 7th you will be able to find Invasion on the Squad Battle Playlist.

New Maps

Doubling the number of maps from Halo: Reach, there are now six playable maps for Invasion. Breakpoint and Recovery (formerly Boneyard) are back, along with four totally new offerings: Crashout, Exhumed, Last Road and Wavelength. These should keep everyone busy for a while! Have got to give some mad props to the Forge Community – what a talented bunch!

New Objective

The three original objectives from Halo: Reach’s Invasion are back, but this time around there’s a new fourth goal to achieve: Payload, where as you can probably guess, the offensive team have to escort a payload along a track to score points and advance. Capture the Zone also now gives you an extra five seconds to defend and launch a counter offensive – but otherwise the original objectives should be very familiar.
