Bounty Star, which we got to check out at Summer Game Fest and is a Day One Game Pass title, has a new store page and preload available on Xbox ahead of its October 23rd release date.

Bounty Star is a mix of third-person mech fighting action and crafting at your home base. It will launch Day One into Xbox Game Pass on console and PC. We got to play for half an hour at this year’s Summer Game Fest Play Days event for press. Both our EIC, Jon Clarke, and lead contributor, Aarsal Masoodi, enjoyed the game’s action and cozy crafting setup. It’s not a Minecraft-type of crafting title, focusing instead on action and blowing things up on missions to find the parts you need.

Coming October 23rd, a new store page was spotted on the XboxEra Discord earlier today. After seeing this, I tried installing the game through the Xbox Android Phone App and was surprised to see a 5.65 GB download available instead of the typical 200 MB stub file.

Per the developers, “Bounty Star is an over-the-shoulder third-person action game that marries mech combat and customization with farming and base building. The player takes on the role of a broken but powerful ex-soldier named Clem — a war veteran, talented fighter and expert mech pilot. Clem attempts to shed the guilt and shame of her past and become a legitimate force for good in the Red Expanse, a post-post-apocalyptic version of the American Southwest.

From what I remember, the gameplay consisted of “go out and take these evil hombres out” style of bounty missions, thus the game’s name. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one and hope to bring you a review whenever it finally releases on Xbox and Xbox PC. Though, sadly, like most games lately, I may have to cover it on Steam because Valve’s platform lets publishers push builds whenever they want. Xbox, conversely, has a full certification process for all uploads that can make it more difficult to have games available as review copies.
