Hollow Knight Silksong is out today, and as expected, the highly anticipated metroidvania is pretty popular. So much so, that the release of Hollow Knight Silksong has caused Xbox Live and Steam to crash entirely.

I’ve tested this myself, and can confirm that both Steam and Xbox are struggling. On Xbox, my account appears to no longer be registered as a Game Pass subscriber, so while I can find the game on the Xbox app, I can’t download it without my account services working.

On Steam, it’s even worse, with the entire store being offline and completely inaccessible, producing this amusing splash screen.
As far as reviews go, we’re going to be working hard to get one done, as Team Cherry haven’t provided any advanced copies so they can be awesome to their Kickstarter backers, which is super cool. As such, we’ll be jumping in when this all fixed up along with everyone else.
Are you having issues logging into your console or PC to play? Let us know in the XboxEra forums or make some noise on our Community Discord?
