
This week, developer Full Circle and publisher Electronic Arts dropped a new development video covering some of the key gameplay features that will be available in their coming free-to-play massively multiplayer online skateboarding game ‘skate.’, coming to PC via Steam/EA Desktop/EGS, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles on the 16th of September in Early Access.
In addition, the developers detailed coming features and content as part of their roadmap (this being an always-evolving game) including the “skate.Pass” system.
Here’s what you can look forward to in skate.:
- The Flick-It System Returns: Rebuilt in Frostbite, the Flick-It system is back – better and more precise than ever. This also includes new tricks like new powerslides and wallies.
- Introducing Skatepedia: Skater’s go-to guide for mastering tricks, learning styles and making skate. more accessible to newcomers.
- San Vansterdam: A new skateboarding world with four distinct neighborhoods and the new ability to go vertical to find all the skate spots it has to offer. This world is free for you to explore, do challenges, different sessions or take advantage of Quick Drop to create your own skate spot.
- Customization: Like anything else, this is only the beginning and we’ll continue to evolve the customization options by adding more detail with how your skater looks and feels including tattoos coming in live service.
- Seasonal Content: Regular updates will bring fresh content and seasonal events. Season 1 throws it back to skateboarding’s golden era, the 90s, featuring new skateable areas, challenges, cosmetics, music tracks and more.
- Season 2 and 3 will also include all of that and more with fan-requested features like party voice chat, replay editor improvements and new tricks like impossibles and darkslides.
- Seasonal Themed Events: Kick-off Season 1 with themed events like Skate-o-Ween and the 7-Ply Maple Harvest.
- All-New skate.Pass: Featuring both free and premium tracks loaded with rewards and Seasonal Challenges to give players new and exciting things to do.
