Announced today by Devolver Digital, BALL X PIT finally has a release date, and in a nice surprise, it’s also coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day One.
Per the developers, BALL X PIT is a “fast-paced fantasy roguelite where heroes must find the balls to plunge deeper into a seemingly bottomless pit of monsters. Develop arcane ammunition and resources in pursuit of treasure, recruiting additional heroes to aid you in your perilous quest.“
First revealed back during the Devolver Direct, it’s a pretty unique spin on classic ball/brick breaking games, with base-building and survival elements all mixed in together. Developed by Kenny Sun and Friends “BALL x PIT sees you batter hordes of enemies with an oral barrage of esoteric projectiles that can be evolved, upgraded and combined to create all manner of overpowered synergies. Gather the riches of the pit to expand your homestead, generate resources and recruit unique heroes.” It was the 12th most played game during Steam Next Fest, so Xbox players getting the game as part of their subscription is pretty neat!

As you explore the pit you’ll encounter fellow treasure hunters eager to add their skills to your expedition. Each character has unique, upgradable mechanics that totally change the way you play the game. Experimentation and adaptation are crucial to the success of New Ballbylon!
If you want to try it out before October, you can check out the demo available on Steam right now. Failing that, BALL X PIT is coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via Game Pass on October 15th, 2025. Don’t worry Nintendo Switch 2 fans – that will follow later this year.
