Grounded 2 has launched into early access today on Xbox Series consoles, Xbox PC, and Steam, and is currently the top-selling game on the Steam platform.
Our own EIC Jonnie Clarko loved Grounded 2, in his review-in-progress, he stated:
“If you’re a fan of the original game, I’d say there’s nothing ground(ed) breaking here. In fact, it’s very easy to like Grounded 2 because in many ways, it’s the first game again, albeit at a much bigger scale, with new mysteries to solve and an entirely new map to explore and survive in. The core strengths of the original are here and intact, from the gorgeous world and solid survival mechanics, to another intriguing story to unpack, but I can’t help but feel there should have been more from the start that feels truly new. Still, it is a lot of fun, and as we begin another early access journey, this peblet and clay foundation is pretty solid – I can’t wait to see what else is in store.“
As shown in the screenshot above, Grounded 2’s base edition is currently the top-selling game on Steam in the US. The Founders Edition is just behind it at #3. The game is available in Game Pass on Cloud, Console, and PC for Xbox players.
As noted by our good friend Klobrille, Grounded 2 has already had more peak concurrent players on Steam than the first game within a mere thirty minutes of becoming publicly available, which is quite impressive.

Obsidian aren’t taking it easy though, with the team already sharing a detailed roadmap that takes us well into next year, with plenty of new exciting additions on the way for Grounded 2 players.
