Good news multiplayer sci-fi shooter fans! Dreamhaven’s Wildgate is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC via Steam. This is a crew-based first person shooter, that looks a little like Sea of Thieves in space, and I’m kinda here for it! Check out the launch trailer below.
In terms of the actual setup of Wildgate, players play as “prospectors’ and will team up in crews to head off into deep space to search for loot and plunder. There’s a mysterious artifact out there, and you’re just the sort of space pirate that should reach it first.
Jason Chayes, Studio Head of Developer Moonshot Games shared some detail on recent playtests ahead of launch, saying “Last month, we held our biggest playtest yet, where hundreds of thousands of players from around the world joined us in Wildgate. During this release, we hit the number two spot among the most-played games on Steam during Next Fest. Considering the game was revealed just three months ago, we are incredibly grateful to our players and community for enabling Wildgate to achieve this awesome feat. Wildgate is officially live, but the adventure is just beginning. We can’t wait to meet everyone out in the Reach and make unforgettable memories!”
Per a press release, “Starting today, players can enjoy robust progression updates, improvements to matchmaking and spectator view, and the arrival of the in-game cosmetic store. Later this year, players can also look forward to the arrival of Season 1, which will add a new prospector, Reach anomalies, an Adventure pass, a new weapon, new equipment, and more.
