Halo Studios has told us when and where we’ll hear about their next Halo game.

In a Halo Waypoint blog post, Halo Studios has told us when and where we’ll hear about the next Halo game.
Over the past few weeks, there’s been a fair amount of speculation about when and where more details might emerge about any of the multiple projects Halo Studios is actively working on. We don’t usually comment on such matters, but this time we want to enter the chat and share a little more perspective for Halo fans who might be on the fence about whether to attend this year’s event.
Last year at HaloWC, we premiered “A New Dawn” where we talked about the switch to Unreal Engine, gave you a behind the scenes look at Project Foundry, and debuted our evolution to Halo Studios as we enter a new chapter for Halo. For us, “A New Dawn” was just the beginning – at this year’s HaloWC, we look forward to continuing the conversation.
Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship. We really hope you’ll join us in Seattle this October!
We covered when 343 Industries rebranded to Halo Studios at last year’s HCS:
343 Industries has been around ever since Bungie passed the torch over following the release of Halo Reach. As per Halo Studios Head, Pierre Hintze, “If you really break Halo down, there have been two very distinct chapters. Chapter 1 – Bungie. Chapter 2 – 343 Industries. Now, I think we have an audience which is hungry for more. So we’re not just going to try improve the efficiency of development, but change the recipe of how we make Halo games. So, we start a new chapter today.”
New Engine!
The venerable sci-fi universe has never looked so good, and as per the folks at the newly monikered ‘Halo Studios‘, that’s all thanks to Unreal Engine. Moving away from Slipspace was key – per Hintze, “On Halo Infinite, we were developing a tech stack that was supposed to set us up for the future, and games at the same time.”
New Halo Game(s)!
Not only is the legendary franchise getting a freshly branded Studio and a new engine to play with, it’s getting multiple projects to boot, with multiple games confirmed to be in development, rather than the team focusing on a single project.
Per Studio Head, Patrick Hintze, “We had a disproportionate focus on trying to create the conditions to be successful in servicing Halo Infinite, switching to Unreal allows us to put all the focus on making multiple new experiences at the highest quality possible.”
And there you have it. Halo Studios will tell us what they’ve been working on at this October’s Halo World Championship in Seattle. What do you think it will be? Let us know in the comments section.
The article has been updated with reports on last year’s HCS changes/announcements.

Hardcore Halo fan here. After all these years, it became evident that HALO is BUNGIE, and BUNGIE is HALO. Whatever 343 Studio is doing isn’t working, and unreal engine will not fix that!
