Announced via a blog post over on HaloWaypoint, Halo: Edge of Dawn is coming this December, and will pick up our hero’s journey in the ‘immediate aftermath of Halo Infinite’s ending.’ What’s the setup? Here’s a handy official description:

The folks over at Halo Studios say that this new novel is very similar to one of the earliest Halo books, Halo: First Strike. They say that “this story serves as a glimpse into the aftermath of its preceding events, the novel dealing with the immediate fallout of what took place in Halo Infinite’s campaign while embarking on its own new, self-contained adventure.”

We reviewed the last Halo novel, Halo: The Rubicon Protocol back in 2022, with our Reviews Editor Jesse saying “Halo: The Rubicon Protocol is an excellent companion piece to Halo Infinite’s campaign. It is a brutal, bloody, and at times terrifying look into just a handful of the experiences that took place during this period. I hope more is in the works from the transmedia team at 343 Industries set in this fascinating and enormous alien landscape of Zeta Halo. Kelly Gay has now written three damned good Halo books and helped create a solid path for the future of the franchise.

More on Halo: Infinite

Last week, developer Halo Studios dropped its latest operation onto its ongoing live service first-person arena shooter ‘Halo Infinite’. Dubbed “Operation: Legacy“, players will be able to relive the iconic ‘Halo 3’ through Halo: Infinite, including multiple maps, a claimable Ninja Gaiden 4-themed Hayabusa helmet, retrofied modes, Grifball, and more. This operation will run until the 8th of July.

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
