Mundfish were certainly not quiet at this years Summer Game Fest. They of course announced Atomic Heart 2, as well as showcased the, uh, interesting looking “Ill”. But that wasn’t it, they also revealed ‘The Cube’, a multiplayer centric title that seems to build on top of the shooting mechanics in Atomic Heart, coming to Xbox. Keep reading to find out more about the game.
The Cube is in development for consoles (including Xbox) and PC, and it’s described as a “multiplayer shooter RPG”. What that means exactly isn’t known just yet, but the game takes place on, well, a giant cube that’s revolving and floating in the sky. There’s a mystery to be found and solved that concerns the fate of humanity. So of course it’s up to us to figure out what’s going on.
Just like Atomic Heart 2, there is no release date or year yet for the game and it seems Mundfish has some very ambitious ideas and plans for The Cube. They’re also not a stranger to showing their games very early to help build hype and excitement, so we’re not expecting this game (or Atomic Heart 2) anytime soon.

We reviewed Mundfish’s Atomic Heart when it came out a few years ago and really enjoyed yet. Here’s a quick blurb from our review:
“Few video games are genuinely funny, and even fewer never delve into cringe. Atomic Heart never once missed on a joke or plot point. Your character isn’t an idiot to advance the plot, and no character is. There are a ton of secrets and varied motivations, and it always felt earned when I found out why someone had kept something from me. Characters have depth and none fits an easy-to-define mold. From the crazy Granny with her flying house to even the main protagonist they’re all realistic with their motivations, abilities, and faults.”
If you’re not sure what this game is just yet, then don’t worry, Mundfish also had a press release that gives us a few more details, though we’ll need to wait to see more. Keep an eye out here for when they do as we’ll keep you updated throughout.
