IGN has reported that EA has canceled their Black Panther game and closed the studio making it, Cliffhanger Games.

Electronic Arts has reportedly canceled its upcoming Black Panther video game and closed Cliffhanger Games. IGN reported the cancellation and closure in an article you can find HERE. There are a few quotes from an internal email around the events:
“EA Entertainment president Laura Miele, Miele said that these changes, alongside other recent cancellations and layoffs, are being done to “sharpen our focus and put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities.” Following up with, “These decisions are hard,” Miele wrote. “They affect people we’ve worked with, learned from, and shared real moments with. We’re doing everything we can to support them — including finding opportunities within EA, where we’ve had success helping people land in new roles.” – via IGN
This is the latest round of firings by EA, which has cut hundreds of jobs after its main live service titles failed to hit expectations last year. Respawn and other studios lost hundreds of employees and faced multiple game cancellations, including a title in the Titanfall universe. It has been a rough few years for video game developers. While the industry is making more money than ever, its job security is as bad as one can remember.
