Rumor | Extraction Shooter ARC Raiders might be back online next month

A recent Steam update pushed out for upcoming Extraction Shooter ARC Raiders leads many fans to believe the game may be back online a lot sooner than originally thought.

First picked up on Reddit, the update was briefly available, and some savvy users claim they were able to retrieve the *.exe file left in the game files.

That new *.exe appeared to produce some base 64 strings of text on the game’s launcher, which led users to a countdown, found here.

That countdown suggests a time – 10pm, Friday June 6th.

Coincidentally, that’s the exact time that Geoff Keighly’s ‘Summer Games Fest‘ goes live with its show in the YouTube Theater, LA, a typical place for all sorts of new game reveals and surprises.

Hope is kindled.

ARC Raiders is being developed by Embark, the studio behind the pretty great “The Finals“, but ARC Raiders was actually in development before that game came out. It’s clearly taken a little longer than initially planned to get the game out the door.

According to Embark, “ARC Raiders blends high-risk surface scavenging with strategic survival and crafting elements underground. Players take on the role of Raiders—rogue gunslingers who navigate a crumbling world filled with towering ARC machines, rival Raiders, and the ever-present threat of ambush. With solo and squad play (up to three players), each run becomes a gamble between what you risk and what you stand to gain. Whether you’re a long-time fan of high-stakes extraction and survival games, or new to the genre, ARC Raiders invites you to carve your own path, your own story, and your own fate—as a squad or a lone Raider.

Are we looking at a surprise launch for ARC Raiders or another Tech Test? Only time will tell.
