DOOM The Dark Ages Cosmic Realm

Presented by Hugo Martin at id Software, the video details a brand new area that’s not yet been shown off from the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages. This is the ‘Cosmic Realm’, an area that’s ‘totally unique’ for a DOOM game.

Per Hugo, “You will bear witness to the cyclopian architecture of this Lovecraftian dimension as you explore its darkest secrets and battle it’s most insane enemies.” Alright Hugo, calm down mate.

There’s plenty of gorgeous footage in the video, with reveals of new guns, new enemies and a couple of other snippets – including that the game features 22 levels. You can watch this exclusive video over on the PlayStation channel right here.

Doom: The Dark Ages | Hands-on Preview – XboxEra

We were in love with DOOM: The Dark Ages when we went hands on with the game earlier this year, saying “The absolute core mechanics of Doom: The Dark Ages feel so damn good to play. The movement is still fast, precise, snappy. Players get countless options to customize their visuals, controls and accessibility options alike – from HUD colours, to custom FOVs, all the way down to individual sliders to manually alter enemies’ health, the parry window, or even the game speed itself.

Doom: Eternal was already one of the most satisfying and customizable shooters on the market, and I’m happy to report that Doom: The Dark Ages somehow pushes the envelope even further. It’s incredibly fast, precise and satisfying, but players can finetune it to match their own pace or playstyle to the finest details.”

You can check out our hands on preview and gameplay right here.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC on May 15th. It’s also coming straight to Xbox Game Pass.
