Back in January this year, Microsoft revealed that LG TVs would get access to Cloud Gaming via the ‘Xbox App’. Tom Warren has commented on this as seen below:
Tom says ‘The Xbox app will let LG TV owners stream Xbox games directly to their TVs, and use a wireless controller to play them’. However, unfortunately not all LG TV users can jump into the Xbox App today.
To get access to the Xbox app, Users must be running the latest webOS 24. However, this is only included in 2022 OLED TVs and a select 2023 LG Smart TVs. This is a shame, but just the way it is for now sadly.

‘Starting today, the Xbox app is available on select LG Smart TV models. Making it easier than ever for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in over 25 countries to play games directly from their TVs. This rollout includes 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 LG Smart TVs, and newer models. Along with smart monitors running webOS24 or later versions. It will soon expand to StanbyME screen.
‘With this update, players can enjoy hundreds of games in the Game Pass Ultimate catalogue, including popular titles like Avowed, South of Midnight, and more. Game Pass Ultimate members can also conveniently stream a select catalogue of Xbox games they already own’.
Seems Xbox interesting marketing advert campaign showing that ‘anything’ can be an Xbox is becoming more and more true. Which, in my personal opinion, is a good thing. More ways to stream and play your own games is always a good thing.
