The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered to be unveiled tomorrow

After one of the leakiest late development periods ever, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been officially announced that it’s going to be announced, tomorrow.

The Elder Scrolls IV was originally released in 2006 on the Xbox 360 & PC, with a later release on PlayStation 3. This graphical remaster replaces the game’s original graphics with a full Unreal Engine 5 overhaul. Numerous gameplay updates have been patched into the original Gamebryo gameplay, thus the Remastered title instead of Remake. After a ton of speculation, the game is getting a live-stream announcement tomorrow on YouTube and Twitch at 11am on Tuesday April 22nd:

Elder Scrolls games are heavy on simulations. Remaking the gameplay systems in something like Unreal Engine would be the equivalent of the work going into The Elder Scrolls VI. That one will most likely use a newer version of Bethesda’s own Creation Engine 2. Oblivion Remastered is rumored to be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It is supposedly a Play Anywhere title and in Game Pass on the Xbox and PC platforms.
