ARC Raiders is back with a new playable ‘Tech Test 2’

Raiders of the Lost ARC

Begun, the Extraction Wars have…or something! Following Bungie’s reveal of Marathon, a revival of a very old intellectual property which has been transformed into an online, multiplayer PvPvE extraction shooter, Embark aren’t keeping quiet, and have revealed a new tech test for ARC Raiders.

Players will be able to sign up for a chance to participate in “the largest public test yet, on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store.

If you’re wondering who Embark are, or what ARC Raiders is, don’t worry – we’ve got you. Embark are the studio behind the pretty great “The Finals“, but ARC Raiders was actually in development before that game came out – but it’s clearly taken a little longer than initially planned to get the game out the door.

Per Aleksander Grøndal, Executive Producer of ARC Raiders, “Over the past six months, we’ve worked hard to expand the core experience, based on community feedback. This is our chance to see how those changes perform at scale. We’re especially eager to gather feedback on progression, the combat experience, cross-platform performance, and how the experience feels now that it’s more expansive and layered.”

According to Embark, “ARC Raiders blends high-risk surface scavenging with strategic survival and crafting elements underground. Players take on the role of Raiders—rogue gunslingers who navigate a crumbling world filled with towering ARC machines, rival Raiders, and the ever-present threat of ambush. With solo and squad play (up to three players), each run becomes a gamble between what you risk and what you stand to gain. Whether you’re a longtime fan of high-stakes extraction and survival games, or new to the genre, ARC Raiders invites you to carve your own path, your own story, and your own fate—as a squad or a lone Raider.

Per the developers, “Playtest registration is now open directly on Steam, or via arcraiders.com for console players or those on Epic Games Store. Players selected for previous ARC Raiders playtests will be granted automatic access to this test too.

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
