In today’s big information/gameplay blowout we got the release date for Marathon, and it’s coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC this September.

Marathon will launch on September 23rd, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It supports full crossplay and cross-save. It’s not know if the game will be free-to-play or have a similar $40 cost like Helldivers 2 and Concord did.
The game describes itself as:
A massive ghost ship hangs in low orbit over a lost colony on Tau Ceti IV. The 30,000 souls who call this place home have disappeared without a trace. Strange signals hint at mysterious artifacts, long-dormant AI, and troves of untold riches. You are a Runner, venturing into the unknown in a fight for fame… and infamy. Who among you will write their names across the stars?
This title is a spiritual reboot of the original 1994 Macintosh game. It was a first person shooter which took place upon a colony ship known as The Marathon. There were a trilogy of Marathon games which released over the course of three years. It is seen as precursor to Bungie’s Halo franchise.
