25 Great JRPGs on Xbox (March 2025)

Action, puzzles, friendship, and revenge await.

Xbox JRPG No. 6 – NieR Replicant!

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…

‘NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…’ is developer Toylogic’s rebuilt and enhanced version of the original ‘NieR Replicant’, released in Japan way back when I was grinding Vindictus and Neopets. As popular as ‘NieR: Automata’ was and still is amongst online circles, Replicant doesn’t quite see the same amount of love as 2B’s title despite being a prequel to that whole bit of chaos! Action, repetition, and plenty of endings await you in the bizarre, bizarre world of NieR and director Yoko Taro’s vast mindscape.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is available on Xbox consoles.

Xbox JRPG No. 7 – Yumia!

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

Assumng I can actually get this article out on time, this game won’t be available for purchase yet. Launching on the 21st of March, ‘Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land’ is developer GUST’s debut on the Xbox platform and potentially even their breakout title after the immense success of the previous series, ‘Atelier Ryza’. Why is it here on this list? Well, it’s got a unique setting, a fun cast of characters backdropped against a serious storyline, and an incredibly unique crafting system that could eat hours of your time up. Not to mention the available movement and creative tools that players have in this latest instalment.

Check out our review of the game thisaway! Atelier Yumia will be available on Xbox One and Series consoles and a demo will be available on the 16th of March. Demo is up, too.

Xbox JRPG No. 8 – Persona 4 Golden!

Persona 4 Golden

This one is a tough recommendation for me to make. No, not whether or not it belongs on this list (it does so ten times over), but I have deference for ‘Persona 3’ more so than ‘Persona 4 Golden’. Despite the latter being a much better game overall with a great cast, fun dungeons, and the series’ specialty: finding shadows and beating them slash collecting them so you can fuse even stronger shadows.

Persona 4 Golden is available on Xbox consoles and PCs via Play Anywhere. Read our review of the game here!

Xbox JRPG No. 10 – Graces f!

Tales of Graces f Remastered

Bandai Namco’s ‘Tales of Grace f Remastered’ is a cleaned-up port of the PlayStation 3 original, which was also an enhanced version of the Wii-exclusive release of ‘Tales of Graces’ released only in Japan. Brought to every console under the sun and PCs, you too can now more easily access one of the best combat systems in the entire franchise. Draped in an amusing cast, an okay story, and some irritating backtracking, none of that can get in the way of how satisfying it can be to land combos. Oh, and friends can join in too with up to four player coop!

Read our review of Graces f thisaway if you need more convincing. Otherwise, know that Tales of Graces f Remastered is available on Xbox consoles.

Xbox JRPG No. 11 – Meg’s Monster!

Meg’s Monster

Meg’s Monster is more narrative adventure than an outright RPG, to an extent. By my powers, I’m stretching the rules here to tell you why you should play the game: it’s a lovely, touching story about friendship and can be played by just about anyone as it’s a slow-paced, turn-based game. Just remember that if the little girl cries, the world will end.

Check out our review of the game here! Oh, and Meg’s Monster is available on Xbox consoles.
