Robocop: Rogue City ‘expand-alone’ sequel announced

Unfinished Business

Have you ever watched the movie Dredd or perhaps The Raid? You should, but if you haven’t, it seems like the developers for the very well received Robocop: Rogue City have, and now the game is getting a sequel with Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, tasking Murphy with scaling a fortified tower block.

The tower block in question, according to the developers, is “OCP’s latest project, OmniTower, a massive complex built for the residents of Old Detroit” that has been “seized by a group of highly trained mercenaries who shoot first and ask questions… well never.”

Per publisher Nacon, “Robocop is back on duty to settle unfinished business.

Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business

Following RoboCop’s decisive victory over Detroit’s gangs, a new chapter unfolds in this standalone extension set after the events of RoboCop: Rogue City. The New Guy in Town has been defeated, but the streets are still riddled with crime. A spark of hope comes from OCP’s latest project: OmniTower – a massive housing complex designed especially to provide for the needs of the residents of Old Detroit. But when a group of highly trained mercenaries armed with cutting-edge weapons takes control of the building and turns it into their deadly fortress, RoboCop must take action and put a stop to their plans to undermine law and order.

It’s worth reiterating that Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business is not a full fledged sequel, but rather a standalone expansion, so don’t expect the game to be quite as long as its predesscor.

Having said that, our reviews editor Jesse had a grand ol’ time with Robocop: Rogue City, saying “Robocop: Rogue City is a 7, but it’s a really fun 7.  It knows what it is, and it sticks to that no matter what.  The writing isn’t the best, and some of the characters look straight out of a $3 steam simulator title.  Still I had a ton of fun beating this one over the course of a day and a half so if you love the series it’s well worth checking out.

Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Steam and PS5 this summer.
