Craig Duncan and Rare have just confirmed that Fable, the hotly anticipated title from Playground Games, is delayed to 2026.

In an interview with the Official Xbox Podcast, Craig Duncan the head of Xbox Game Studios has stated that Fable has been delayed out of 2025 and into 2026.
“We’re really excited about it’s progress [Fable’s] and where Playground Games are. We previously announced Fable as 2025. We are actually going to give Fable more time. It’s going to ship in 2026 now. While I know that’s not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want is to assure people that it is definitely worth the wait.”
There was new gameplay shown in the video as well, most likely in an attempt to lessen the blow associated with the delay.

Fable is a revival of the classic Xbox and 360 series. The game has a rather short description on its Xbox Store Page:
“What does it mean to be a Hero? Well, in the fairytale land of Albion, that is entirely up to you. With a dark threat looming, your choices will change Albion forever.”
