Split Fiction will support cross-play co-op with ‘Friend’s Pass’ at launch

EA and Hazelight have released a new trailer for their latest upcoming co-op jaunt, Split Fiction, detailing the return of the fantastic ‘Friend’s Pass’. If you’ve not heard of it, it was pioneered by the team at Hazelight as a signature feature of their games, allowing players to buy one copy and share the experience with a friend.

You’ve got friends, right?

This time around, Hazelight have taken the ‘Friend’s Pass’ for Split Fiction a step further with a brand new cross play function. Per EA, it allows ‘anyone to team up on different platforms including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If neither partner owns a copy of the game, both players can still jump into a FREE game trial with Friend’s Pass to sample the Hazelight team’s co-op magic!

You can read about the Friend’s Pass via a helpful blog post, found here. Nutshell, and as per the video, it’s four simple steps to set up a session with a friend:

Step 1. I own Split Fiction

Step 2. Friend installs Friend’s Pass on their chosen platform

Step 3. I send an invite to my friend, who then accepts the in-game invite

Step 4. Play The Entire Game Together

About Split Fiction:

In Split Fiction, players collaborate as fantasy writer Zoe and sci-fi author Mio, two opposites who must work together to escape a simulation of worlds created from their own written stories. Designed for two, Split Fiction is a true co-op adventure where players can dive into genre-jumping gameplay and build their teamwork skills while journeying through incredible sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

We’re really looking forward to Split Fiction here at XboxEra, and you can look forward to our review a little closer to launch.

If you’ve not played Hazelight’s previous game, It Takes Two, it comes highly recommended. You can check out our review right here.
