Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 heading to Xbox Game Pass

Drip Drip Drip...

Microsoft have faced some criticism for the slow pace at which they’re releasing the veritable treasure trove of older Activision Blizzard releases on to Xbox Game Pass, but it looks like the steady drip is set to continue. XboxEra has learned that another classic Call of Duty title is releasing on to the service, and it’s sooner than you think!

According to our sources, this time it’s going to be 2009’s ‘Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’ set to have a turn in the spotlight, with the game due to hit the subscription service in March or April this year.

If this story rings some bells, it was briefly covered by the pretty reliable extas1s, who previously shared that while he knew of a Call of Duty title due to come to Xbox Game Pass in March, he was unable to confirm which. (There sure is a lot of Call of Duty titles!)

Extas1s also reported that both Raven’s Software’s Singularity, a survival horror shooter from 2010 and 2008’s Call of Duty World at War were on the way, with them scheduled to appear on Xbox Game Pass in May of this year.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 did get a campaign remaster back in 2020, but it didn’t include the original multiplayer.

It certainly looks like the steady drip of classic Activision Blizzard games is set to continue for a while yet. Are you excited to play the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2? Have your say in the XboxEra Discord or join our forums!
