Originally announced back in June of 2023 during the Xbox Games Showcase, the gorgeous looking South of Midnight is finally near. Today during the Developer_Direct, it was announced that Compulsion’s new game releases April 8th, 2025 – and it’s coming straight on to Xbox Game Pass.
We were treated to an extensive look with the team at Compulsion Games in today’s Developer_Direct, and the game looks nothing short of incredible.

We’ve already seen a fair bit of the game’s themes last year thanks to the official “Weaving Hazel’s Journey’ Documentary, it explored the development and world-building behind the game, including the inspiration for many of its themes – and it also included quite a bit of new gameplay.
They also revealed ‘The Art & Music of South of Midnight‘, which is a box set featuring a meticulously designed art book, soundtrack vinyl, comic book, and more. This new box set, ‘developed in collaboration with Dutch design house and publisher Cook and Becker‘ is available to pre-order now for those interested. It’s worth noting, this box set does not include an actual copy of the game.
South of Midnight is coming out on the 8th of April on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It’s available Day One on Game Pass. We’ll have a more coverage in the weeks to come.
