Fragpunk, a new take on the tactical 5v5 hero shooter genre is launching very soon, continuing the onslaught of games coming to Xbox in 2025.
If you’ve not heard of Fragpunk yet, it’s okay – there are a lot of video games coming, so it’s understandable. This free to play game mixes the 5v5 tactical hero shooter genre up with unique shard cards, which actually modify the gameplay in real-time, often with hilarious results.
Want to carry a bulletproof turtle shell on your back? Maybe make everyone have giant heads? Or maybe give your bullets chain-lightning? It’s all possible with shard cards, and there’s over 100 to play with.
Fragpunk is releasing on March 6th, 2025. Xbox Series X|S users can drop some pennies on the Pioneer bundle. You’ll get some exclusive skins, the launch season’s battle pass, stickers, charms and more to stand out on the battlefield.
Per a new post over on Xbox Wire: “The FragPunk Pioneer Bundle is available for purchase for $9.99 USD and its content will be made available upon your first login. To learn more about FragPunk, head over to our product page, and wishlist the game to get even more rewards at launch.“
I actually got to try the game out, both during Gamescom 2024 and at home, and I found it to be very enjoyable, with just the right amount of crazy gun-toting action to keep me interested. We’ll check it out once the game has launched, and thankfully, we don’t have long to wait.
