Finally. Nintendo have shown off the long awaited follow up, the Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s pretty much exactly what you thought it would be. A bigger, better Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer below.
It’s a much more sleek looking design, with the accent colours being a little more discreet this time around. The system plays ‘Switch 2’ exclusive games of course, but the good news here is that it will be backwards compatible, with Nintendo noting that the system “plays Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as Nintendo Switch games.*”

That little asterisk of course, has some small print – The new system will support both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, but as they note, certain titles may not be supported or fully compatible with the new console.

As for software, we got a brief glimpse of what appears to be MarioKart, but I have no idea from memory if that is going to be an actually new sequel, or further iteration on the last entry in the series.
Software details are coming with a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd, 2025, where we can probably expect a deep dive on new games coming to the system. Will any of them be Xbox 1st Party titles? We shall see. I think Sea of Thieves would do very well here.

I wonder what Xbox Games will be launch titles?
Money on Hi-Fi Rush.
Sea of Thieves is my bet!
Cod blops 6 and whatever CoD is out this year for launch titles.
The question is : how can I get my hands on this thing at launch ? Mission impossible.
I wonder if Xbox is taking notes on this and being somewhat careful with what game launches on Switch 2. Cause my gut tells me is likely Sea of Thieves and Hi Fi Rush, but something is stoping me from saying it is and i do not know why still. I think is best to wait, cause some info was not clear in some way and i prefer to have all facts in check beforehand.
That was pretty uneventful for me, but I’m not their target audience. No more details?
For me as well but I’ll probably still get one.

They have to number it. No way they will pull Wii U.
Yeah, I don’t really get it. It’s another Switch, okay.
Do we know how powerful it’s expected to be? Like, Xbox One X equivalent, or Series S even?
