RUMOR: AC IV: Black Flag Remake might bring gameplay changes

mp1st.com has posted an article detailing a list of potential upgrades for the rumored Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake.

New Systems

In the article, there are three main takeaways highlighted at the beginning.

  • There will be more than just graphical upgrades, with gameplay elements and mechanics being upgraded
  • It will use the trusted and true Anvil Engine that the series is known for
  • A rumored November 2025 release date

In the article the heart of the new information is a tidbit that states “As listed in the project’s description, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake will feature new systems, with combat and ecosystems around wildlife specifically mentioned. There’s not much else to mention beyond the team hoping that these new systems will make the classic an “outstanding game to rebirth as the next-gen AAA game.” mp1st sees this as evidence that there will be more than just graphical updates for the title.

The title describes itself as:

“It is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established a lawless Republic. Among these outlaws is a fearsome young captain named Edward Kenway. His exploits earn the respect of legends like Blackbeard, but draw him into an ancient war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.”
