A Nightdive studios account has accidentally posted confirmation that The Thing: Remastered is coming out tomorrow, December 5th in a reddit AMA thread.
A thread has gone up on the /r/xbox subreddit for an AMA with Nightdive studios about their upcoming The Thing: Remastered launch. It was posted in the evening of December 4th, but written as if it was put up mid day on the 5th, whoops!
As we reported earlier this year:
Nightdive Studios has said The Thing: Remastered is a “faithful restoration of the cult-classic 2002 third-person survival horror shooter game inspired by Universal Pictures’ genre-defining 1982 film, The Thing.”
While I’ve always loved the movie, I had a big soft spot for “The Thing” back when I played it on the original Xbox, and thought it did a remarkably good job at bringing the fear of “who is ‘the thing’ through gameplay as you managed your squad in the Outpost you were stationed.
Nightdive are going all out with this one – upgrading this horror classic to include 4K/120 support, in addition to new or improved character models, textures, and animations. Chuck in lighting and atmospheric effect improvements, and this could be something really special.
