Additional Gameplay Accessibility – Beyond the Menus
As accessibility goes beyond the menu settings, here are some additional features that may impact the accessibility of the game for you.
- Pausing – Game can be paused during gameplay and cutscenes
- First Launch – The initial launch flow allows for adjusting various settings the first time you launch the game. This first launch flow includes options for: UI Font size, Enabling Subtitles, Subtitle Size, Closed Captions, enabling High Contrast Mode, Action Experience, and Adventure Experience. Video settings including HDR (on PC), Brightness, and Picture framing can also be adjusted.
- Save Slots – Multiple save slots are available. You can have a maximum of three save slots for the game. The game uses an auto-save system and your time since last auto-save will appear when you view the pause menu prior to exiting the game.
- Journal – The journal can be used in either a lowered or raised position. In a lowered position, you can view your map and objective marker while navigating. A setting is available to always show the objective marker.
- Revisit Locations – It is possible to revisit locations from the Chapters section of the journal. If you miss finding any items from a previous location, you can revisit that location after leaving the area as you progress thru the game. Some activities may require revisiting locations.
- Navigation – Objects such as torches (found in various locations) or the lighter (acquired during gameplay) can be used to brighten dark environments. The lighter can also be used to unblock paths by setting fires to flammable debris after this item is acquired.
- Camera Hints – When faced with challenging puzzles, the Camera can sometimes be used to get Hints about how to proceed. There will be a point of interest near the puzzles that have camera hints. After completing a step in the puzzle, you can capture another Camera Hint to get an additional clue about the next step. The last camera hint you can capture is the complete solution to the puzzle.
- Companions – Some characters will be your companion, for shorter or longer periods of time. These may prove important in solving puzzles or opening doors that you otherwise couldn’t have opened by yourself.
- Infiltration – Rather than initiating combat it may be possible in some areas of the game to infiltrate the enemy area, to get past them unnoticed. Disguises allow for going undercover and exploring restricted or otherwise prohibited areas. Stealth, distractions, and silent takedowns can also be used as a strategy for sneaking past enemies.
Known Barriers and Future Game Updates
Screen Readers – The game currently does not support screen readers for menu or UI narration. Players without sight may need sighted assistance interact with the menus and gameplay. We are working on implementing a screen reader for narration that is planned to be included in a future update.
