Xbox has just put the base Xbox Series X on sale on Xbox.com

Xbox has just put their base Xbox Series X model, black with a disc drive, on sale for $49 off in the United States. Looking through the site in other regions it appears to only be discounted in the US at the time of this article.
Oddly, the Robot White digital-only Series X is the same price at $449. With Black Friday just around the corner, we’ll have to wait and see if/how any of the other Xbox Series X hardware units are discounted. The lineup now consists of:
- Xbox Series S – 500GB Digital (Robot White) MSRP $299
- Xbox Series S – 1TB Digital (Carbon Black or Robot White) MSRP $349
- Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital (Robot White) MSRP $449
- Xbox Series X – 1TB with Disc (Carbon Black) MSRP $499 (on sale for $449)
- Xbox Series X – 2TB with Disc (Galaxy Black) MSRP $599

The latest variants on the console launched in mid-October:
The new consoles are available in most regions worldwide, with new ‘select’ countries to follow on October 29th.
Per Microsoft, they’ve shared some details on each of the new hardware iterations:
- The Xbox Series S – 1TB (White)(£299.99 for UK, €349.99 for Ireland) is equipped with 1TB of storage and is featured in Robot White. Now with double the storage, you can store even more of your favorite games.
- The Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition(£429.99 for UK, €499.99 for Ireland) is equipped with 1TB of storage, is all-digital, and is featured in Robot White for the first time.
- The Xbox Series X – 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition(£549.99 for UK, €649.99 for Ireland) delivers the same speed, performance and features of Xbox Series X, but comes equipped with 2TB of storage, a unique design and a matching Xbox Wireless controller with a Galaxy Black D-pad and Velocity Green back case.
We’ve already seen some pictures of the new ‘Galaxy Black’ edition shared on our community Discord, and it looks pretty nice!

Where’s the discount? It’s still 499 for the series x disc version! No discount here. Disc-less version does not count. That is not a discount when your removing features.
The base, disc-having version is $449 in the US at multiple stores.
Your article says $49. I know we’re going to pretend it was a typo, but it’s really clickbait, isn’t it?
Nevermind. I’m dumb.
