Lead Story: Death Stranding now on Xbox
Surprise! We didn’t even have an inkling this one was coming. Announced via the 505 Games X Account today, Death Stranding: Directors Cut is out now on Xbox Series X|S – and even, better – it’s on sale and it’s ‘Play Anywhere’ – meaning you get both a PC and a console copy.
You can pick up Death Stranding: Directors Cut for 50% off on release – a mere £17.49 her in the UK. Per the games store page, it features high frame rate performance modes, a photo mode and if you’re on PC – Ultra wide support. It also includes “cross-over content from Valve Corporation’s HALF-LIFE series and CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.“
It’s interesting that as the game turns 5 years old it’s now available on Xbox Consoles. We can surmise that console gaming overlords Sony did a little deal to secure this one for exactly 5 years to the day. A sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is currently in development again exclusive to PlayStation 5.
Despite the supposed exclusivity agreement, in an interesting twist it seems that Kojima Productions have re-acquired the rights to Death Stranding franchise according to Automaton-media. Perhaps we’ll see the sequel on Xbox after all?
