Rumor: ‘Warcraft II: Remastered’ Internal Alpha Spotted by BlizzTrack

A return to fending off orcs?

Spotted about a few hours ago on BlizzTrack.com, a site dedicated to tracking build changes on the Battle.Net service (operated by Activision Blizzard, of course), a ‘Warcraft II: Remastered Internal Alpha’ is seemingly making its way through the rounds at the developer. This might be one of the surprises folks can expect to see at the company’s coming Warcraft 30th Anniversary, which airs live on the 13th of November, 10AM PST. Oh, and you’ll also be able to earn new in-game viewership rewards for Hearthstone, Warcraft Rumble, and World of Warcraft by watching this event.

Until we get the official announcement, assume nothing. But it would be nice to see a modernisation of a real-time strategy classic. Til then, feel free to buy the Battle.Net version of Warcraft II to sate your nostalgia.

The war between orc and man rages on across the seas

The kingdom of Stormwind lies in ruins. The king has fallen, and the survivors of the orcish onslaught flee across the ocean. The pursuing Horde, eager to plunge the world into chaos, sails its fleet to meet the defenders of Azeroth in battle. As the fate of the world hangs in the balance and the great tacticians of the Horde and the Alliance clash, only one thing is certain: Winning this war will demand unprecedented cunning, courage, and nerves of steel.

Game features:

Battle across land, air, and sea

Charge into the fray on foot, soar across the sky on the backs of mighty dragons or at the helm of gnomish flying machines, and dominate the waves from aboard massive dreadnoughts or stealthy submersible sea turtles.

Conquer the shattered realm of Outland

Once you’ve mastered the 28 scenarios of Tides of Darkness, prepare to take the war to the orcs’ homeworld of Draenor in 24 more scenarios as part of the Beyond the Dark Portal expansion.

More players, more glory

Launch epic multiplayer battles of up to 8 players, then build your own maps using the map editor. Fight across swamps, icy fields, summer plains, and even the wastes of Outland!

Genghis "Solidus Kraken" Husameddin

New year, more great games. Have fun and play fair!
