Right then, so you’re at home or on the road or something and you really want to play the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 no matter what. Good news for you is that you can! Beginning today, at around 10AM Pacific Time (and the willing of every mythical being that the servers hold up) Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to stream Black Ops 6 via Xbox Cloud Gaming. This means any device that can recognise a controller and supports modern web browsing standards will be able to load up and play Call of Duty with ease.
Now if you don’t know how to access Black Ops 6 via cloud gaming once it goes live, that one’s easy!
If you’re on a web browser (Chrome, Microsoft Edge, maybe Firefox):
- Head on over to Xbox.com/play
- Sign in.
- Find Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the menu.
- Boot it up!
It’s that simple. These instructions in particular will come in handy for iOS players as Microsoft has disabled Cloud Gaming streaming via their apps for this platform. Blame the almighty Apple for “Thinking Different”.
If you’re on PC and Android, the above instructions apply as well but ideally you should use the native Xbox apps that come bundled with Windows and the one you can install over Google Play/Samsung’s Galaxy Store:
- If you’re on Android, head over to Google Play to download the Xbox app.
- Once it’s downloaded, sign in! (This applies to both PC and Android, though the former should already be logged into your Microsoft Account).
- Find Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
- Click “Play”!
And that’s it! Remember that you will need to pair a controller to play the game. Because even if touch controls were supported, you’d get creamed by every sweat alive. All controllers are supported as long as they have the right number of face buttons like that on an Xbox controller. Yes, even DualShock and DualSense controllers! But remember, you must be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member to play cloud games (which will also support titles like Genshin Impact in the future).
