Does MechWarrior 5: Clans have Crossplay?
If you’re a big fan of giant mechs doing battle against other giant mechs, you might be looking forward to MechWarrior 5: Clans. However, if you’ve got friends on other platforms, be it PC or PlayStation 5, you might be wondering – Does MechWarrior 5: Clans have Crossplay?
In our recent preview (which you can watch in the video below) we said: MechWarrior is a classic and beloved franchise that deserves a solid story focused outing, and I think the vast majority of MechWarrior fans will be very pleased with the level of lore-focused detail and fidelity Piranha Games have injected into MechWarrior 5: Clans.
With the game being a 5 player co-operative title, PvP isn’t on the cards. While you can team up with you pals on the same platform, the really good news is that if you were asking “Does MechWarrior 5: Clans have Crossplay” then yes, there is crossplay in MechWarrior 5: Clans.
If you’ve got pals on Xbox, PC or PlayStation, be safe in the knowledge you can load up together and play through what promises to be a pretty lengthy campaign.
You’ll take control of one of 5 characters, and throughout play you’ll be able to invest XP into various stats to specialise in certain weaponry and mech chassis. Aff, Commander!

About MechWarrior 5: Clans
Per the Press Release: MechWarrior 5: Clans follows its 2019 sandbox-style companion, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, as a completely new game in the MechWarrior universe, presenting an entirely different style of game design. Its linear-based design features classic Mech combat that has been streamlined for players on PC or console.
Harness the power of a Mech of your choosing in single player or up to five-player cooperative play and jump into a lore-filled universe that challenges your skills as it unfolds a gripping and unforgettable story.
The series’ first Clan Invasion story in decades is contained in a tight campaign of narratively driven missions where all components are intricately designed, from dialogue to mission layouts to combat scenarios.
MechWarrior 5: Clans’ traditionally designed campaign is entirely self contained, separate from MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries’ utilization of procedural elements to provide an experience that can be played for dozens of hours, and uniquely different from MechWarrior Online’s focus on competitive PvP multiplayer.
The result delivers an engrossing story told through a varied series of stages with tense, climatic battles, standing as the first of its kind in narrative structure and cinematic progression in the MechWarrior series.
