Have a gander below for more details on Let’s Build a Dungeon. Beta signups are available for PC—simply visit the developer’s official website for more on that. This game is coming to PC and Xbox in Partnership with Kowloon Nights and the game will be playable at the Xbox booth at gamescom.

Independent development studio Springloaded, best known for the hit simulation title Let’s Build a Zoo, today announced a new multi-layered management sim set within the world of game development. Let’s Build a Dungeon invites players to run their very own game studio and make a virtual MMORPG fit for hordes of heroes. This creative management sim is coming to PC and Xbox and is available to wishlist now on Steam.

Let’s Build a Dungeon draws upon Springloaded’s history of crafting deep-yet-accessible simulation games, introducing a new game studio setting to deliver a management sim like no other. Players manage a fledgling game studio as they develop an MMORPG that keeps the ever-growing playerbase satisfied – whilst ensuring investors are happy and the development team are getting the job done.

Features:

  • Design and build an MMO fit to be filled with hordes of virtual players
  • Manage the day-to-day running of a game studio, from hiring and firing to keeping investors happy
  • Attract new virtual players by expanding the world, designing new quests and monitoring player journeys
  • Progress through the campaign to develop new items, environments and mechanics
  • Playtest at any time to see the world through the eyes of a player
  • Mix-and-match quest styles for endless replayability
  • Customise a bespoke RPG world with thousands of items, or design custom assets
  • Negotiate tough conversations with shareholders, staff, players and publishers to make meaningful choices that will impact the success of the studio

As all game developers know, a studio won’t run itself! Recruit staff, rent an office, manage project deadlines, negotiate with shareholders, pitch to publishers for investment and undertake many more crucial tasks. Take the company from a scrappy indie studio to a development powerhouse in a humorous but true-to-life take on the current games industry. Let’s Build a Dungeon blends meaningful decision-making with deep management simulation gameplay, inspired by experiences from Springloaded’s past 12 years as an independent studio.

There are many meaningful (and sometimes ethical…) choices to make. Players can choose to force extended working hours to meet deadlines, or ignore investor pressure to protect the development team. Will the studio develop a monster-catching RPG, a cozy farming simulator or a brand new experience that combines elements from multiple genres? By designing quests, building environments and creating custom assets, players can build the ultimate RPG to meet their audience’s demands, whilst balancing the sometimes ridiculous challenges of running a studio.

Let’s Build a Dungeon is available to wishlist now on Steam and Springloaded are inviting players to sign up to be one of the first to play when the beta launches. Sign up now at LetsBuildADungeon.com.
The game is coming to PC and Xbox in partnership with Kowloon Nights, and more detailed feature information will be shared during the Xbox livestream at gamescom on August 21st. Let’s Build a Dungeon will also be playable on the Xbox booth at gamescom.
