First of all, let’s get the good news front and centre – STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is nearly here, and today we have the announcement of a deep dive into the game, which is premiering in partnership with the team at Xbox on August 12th, 2024.
This updated deep dive into STALKER 2 features “never-before-seen content, including interviews and behind the scenes looks into the development process” as well as “new footage showing a world overview, various locations and gameplay“. There’s even a full walkthrough of one of the story quests from the game for good measure.
The Bad News?
It’s not really bad – the team at GSC World have decided to delay the release of STALKER 2 to November 20th, 2024, from it’s previously announced date of September 5th, 2024.
Considering the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, it’s a miracle STALKER 2 is being made at all, so I do hope the internet will be kind today! As per Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World:
“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more “unexpected anomalies” (or simply “bugs”, as you call them). We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding – it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.”
