Is Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox?

Rumors are running rampant, people are frothing at the mouth, is Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox?

Helldivers 2 took the internet by storm earlier this year. Utilizing a mix of solid 3rd-person shooting and co-op craziness saw it take off on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam). While player counts have been stabilizing on Steam fans are curious if the game will ever come to Xbox. It is a PlayStation 5/PC exclusive and SIE has yet to publish a game on any Xbox platform they weren’t “forced” to. MLB The Show has become a yearly staple on Xbox Game Pass but that was due to pressure from Major League Baseball.

Rumors about Helldivers 2 and Xbox have been running rampant for a while now. Is there any truth to them? Probably not, at least not yet. While our own Nick Baker stated that “Talks are being had” between Xbox and PlayStation in April if you work things out logically any deal struck would still require a long period of time to actually create the port. Helldivers 2 runs on Turbosquid, an old engine that only one other current game uses.

WH40K: Darktide uses this engine and both games have had numerous issues with the tech. Who would do a port? Who could somehow do it fast enough for it to be ready anytime soon? I think it is safe to assume that even if the two companies work out a deal Helldivers 2 will not be coming to Xbox any time soon.
