Xbox’s Looking For Group feature is being attacked by bots tonight
Xbox’s looking for group system is seemingly under siege at the time of this reporting, 12am EDT on Sunday, July 21st, 2024. Multiple game LFGs have been overrun with a constant, unceasing deluge of bot spam posts.
Two titles that have millions of LFG posts now are Minecraft and Roblox. The games have the same avatar posting a request for a group with the text /mojang and needing 15 people. Millions of these are up in every major game I’ve searched including heavy hitters like Fortnite.
This is a developing story, with a seeming large number of targets being hit through some sort of exploit in the LFG system. I feel bad for Xbox’s engineers who are looking at losing a ton of sleep as they try to fix this mess.

I don’t really go into lfg, but this sucks. I wonder if Microsoft will be able to ban every single account spamming before getting rid of it.
