Discussion:

  1. Really wish I didn’t need to farm for a piece of an incubator to get a dog in order to advance the story. That’s literally what stopped me from enjoying an otherwise fantastic 3rd person looter shooter.

I’m having a ton of fun with the First Descendant because farming doesn’t seem to be tied to doing the story.

  2. Was never able to get into Warframe but 1999 looks freaking awesome.

  3. I don’t know how long ago you played, or if you are confused. They’ve updated the game a lot this year to make the game less grindy, especially for new players. For the Howl of the Kubrow quest, you are given the incubator as a quest reward. The only farming required is for a Kubrow egg, but it’s drop rate is good. You can also buy the egg with ten of your starting platinum if you want. The kavat incubator is another story, as it must be farmed. It’s not a story quest however. Now really is a good time to get back into the game if you are interested, and I am happy to help new players get on their feet.

  4. At least 2016, and I already had the egg, it was a piece of the incubator that I was missing. I wasn’t that used to grinding for an item back them and while I’m better now I not the type of person to spend more than 3 hours trying before trying again later.

  5. Yeah, when I first tried the game in 2014 or so, I was turned off by the grinding as well. I went back to it in 2016 or so and it was still grindy, but a little better. It wasn’t until 2019 when I got really into it, as they had completely revamped the new player experience. And they refined it even more this year. It might be worth it to try it again, as it seems like you really enjoyed the combat.
