I am not a keyboard enthusiast, but I’d like to be. Over the last couple years, I have used a small variety and as of right now, this is my favorite. A major perk (which I feel is lacking in cute/gaming keyboards) is what I like to call “office keys”. This includes a number pad as well as Home & End keys, etc. since I use my keyboards in my job, I need to have those buttons to function without losing time getting used to functioning without the keys I’m hard-wired to use. I simply don’t want to have to get used to more than one layout between my keyboards at work and at home.
When I brought my new keyboard to work, I called over all my coworkers to press keys, all of whom responded along the lines of “wow, that is so satisfying” and coos of child-like glee. The same happened with my youngest son. I don’t know what it is about a clicky keyboard that brings us back to a child-like state of wonder. They keys have a “soft mechanical” feel. They are loud enough to have a satisfying click, but quiet enough not to annoy my coworkers. I used a keyboard once that resembled a typewriter and that keyboard annoyed even me with its extremely loud key clicks.
The box comes with a key removal tool, and specific replacement keys to use for a Mac layout. There is also 2 replacement mechanical keys in case you have a couple keys completely die. There is RGB lighting with different light patterns, speed, and brightness. The RGB will go to sleep after a few minutes without use, which I like as a feature as it preserves battery. There is also Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and direct wire options for use as well as a Mac or Windows layout option.
