In a surprise announcement, it seems Minecraft is getting it’s own animated TV show at Neflix. Announced just moments ago by Netflix on X (previously known as Twitter), we don’t know much else about the series. It’s official title so far is simply “Minecraft Animated Series”.
The Minecraft TV Show at Netflix announcement also came with a short 20 second animated teaser. This teaser shows the iconic Minecraft character, a creeper, walk unto the screen. The creeper than explodes, which transitions us into a Minecraft cave at the end of which is the giant ‘N’ logo of Netflix.

Alongside this newly announced animated show we also have the Minecraft live action movie in development. This movie stars Jason Mamoa and Jack Black, and is set to release in theatres April 4th next year, 2025.
This isn’t the only Minecraft news lately either. In celebration of Minecraft’s 15 years, Experience MOD and Mojang Studios are releasing the first interactive Minecraft experience. This starts September 20th this year initially in Dallas, Texas, but will be traveling the world at different cities on later dates. Read more about Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue, below.
“Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is designed to welcome players and non-players alike and no prior knowledge of Minecraft is required to enjoy the experience. New players, creators and longtime Minecrafters will love the opportunity to connect and reconnect with the game together in an entirely new and unforgettable way.”
Can you believe it’s already been 15 years of Minecraft? Some would argue making a show or movie is too late now, but Minecraft’s popularly has been both everpresent and evergrowing. Will you watch the Minecraft TV Show on Netflix? Let us know in the comments below.
