Rumor: Next DOOM game is at Xbox’s June Showcase

More leaks and hints from insiders and reporters are being bandied about with the most common being that the next DOOM game is going to be at Xbox’s June Games Showcase

Both Tom Warren and Tom Henderson have hinted at a DOOM game being announced soon in the past week or two. First Mr. Warren used a particular phrase to end one of his recent columns about Xbox:

“Microsoft will be banking on some new game announcements lifting the DOOM around Xbox.”

There has also been a recent trademark filing by Bethesda. While DOOM itself is not named the patent is titled IDKFA which as most DOOM fans would know is a longtime cheat code for the game that grants you every weapon, key, full armor, and ammo in the original title.

Last up we have a kinda lazy, on the nose one from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson:

“Soon June Boom… Doom?”

That’s it, the whole tweet. Kinda obvious!

The last DOOM release has The Ancient Gods Part 2 expansion for DOOM Eternal, back in March of 2022. We gave it a 9.5 stating:

“The Ancient Gods Part 2 is an incredible and fitting finale to the rebirth of the DOOM franchise that began back in 2016. With a clever evolution over the main campaign and first DLC and scope only matched by Avengers Endgame this DLC ups the bar for all future FPS games.
